They say business is slowing down for everybody. People are getting laid off. Businesses are closing down. Everyone's holding on to their wallets trying to save as much of their money as they can. I'm not saying it's not true. It's happening as we speak. However, if you're a business owner, the worst thing you can do is, hold back on or altogether stop marketing. During a recession, many companies react DEFENSIVELY. Out of fear, they hold back on marketing and brace themselves for a slow period. Though the market may be shrinking temporarily, it's actually an opportunity to grow market share. So even though fewer people are spending money, fewer companies are marketing and fighting for the remaining business. In essence the playing field has been leveled. The fact is, if you're going to keep marketing - you're going to need to make it work harder for you than ever before. And if you want to use the web to help you get more business - you're going to need a website and action plan that gets you really good leads and helps you close more sales.
GET HELP: Hire a Pro & Leverage Their Experience Marketing on the internet isn't exactly Rocket Science, but it's no walk in the park either. I have to be honest, most companies have terrible websites and barely get any business from the web, if any at all. They're living a self-fulfilling prophecy. They don't invest in their web strategy, they don't advertise and therefore, they don't get any results from the web. Hopefully, this is what your competition is doing (or not doing), and you have an incredible opportunity to break free from such "faulty thinking" and start thinking positively and being proactive. The odds are high that in this economy you're probably somewhat scared or worried. And, if you're looking to improve your business situation with a better website, you're probably a bit confused because there are so many things to consider. It's totally common. That's called RESIGNATION. But I am here to tell you that it doesn't need to be that way. Let's create an action plan based on time-tested strategies and proven tactics to help you GET FOUND - BUILD TRUST and GET MORE BUSINESS. That's my catch-line and it's described in more detail below. GET FOUND: Attract Your Ideal Clients & Customers Regardless of the economy, there are people out there who still need what you have to offer. Business does goes on. There are some people out there who are virtually unaffected by the current situation. If you aren't marketing and people aren't AWARE of you, how can you expect to do business with them? With the internet, you can attract exactly the type of customers you want to work with. You can be as specific as you want. In fact, the more clear you are about who you want to work with and who you don't, the more ideal your leads become and business gets easier and more rewarding. Become visible. Make people aware of you. Get found and start the chain of events that will lead to getting more business.
BUILD TRUST: Prove You're Worth One of the most important elements in any business relationship is TRUST. Without it, business doesn't flow, it doesn't even get off the ground. But once you establish trust and people feel confident in you, you can have clients for life. Prove it to them - make it easy for visitors to trust you. How? Let them experience what it's like to work with you. Give them interesting and important information on your site. Show them testimonials. Show them who you do business with. Show them the quality of your work. Answer their questions. Answer their calls and emails and communicate with them. That's for starters! Establish trust and you're more than halfway there. Don't make them jump through hoops to do business with you. Make it easy for them to trust you, make them feel good about working with you and most likely, they will.
GET MORE BUSINESS: Once you have a recipe that works - keep doing it. This is about developing and then refining a system - a business-getting, money-making system. Once your system is set up and bringing you business - you can reinvest in it to generate consistently more business. When you have a system that works for you - business is fun again. There's less stress, less worry - more excitement and more confidence that will make prospects want to do business with you. Can you imagine how that would feel? When all the steps are in place, it keeps getting easier and easier. It's kind of like learning to walk - it's easy after you've fallen a hundred times but once you know what you're doing, it's a "walk in the park", excuse the play on words. And when you're working with an experienced pro, you'll get guaranteed results faster, with less struggle. Who wouldn't want that?
